Alpine (1955-1995) was a French manufacturer of racing and sports cars that used rear-mounted Renault engines. Jean Rédélé, the founder of Alpine, was originally a garage proprietor, who began to achieve considerable competition success in one of the few French cars produced just after the Second World War. Jean Rédélé (1922-2007), was an automotive pioneer, pilot and founder of the French automotive brand Alpine. Alpine was given name after French Alps, on wich Jean Redele made his first victory in the 1954 Coupe des Alpes (famous world rally competition based in Marseille and held from 1932 to 1971). With a HEC diploma, he was the youngest Renault dealer in France. HEC Paris (in French: école des Hautes Etudes Commerciales de Paris) is a European business school located in the southern suburb of Paris, France. Company Alpine was bought in 1973 by Renault. Group Renault is a French multinational automobile manufacturer established in 1899 by brothers Renault, Louis, Marcel and Fernand. Louis Renault (1877-1944) (leader) was a French industrialist, one of the founders of Renault and a pioneer of the automobile industry. Marcel Renault (1872-1903) was a French racing car driver and industrialist, co-founder of the car maker Renault. Fernand Renault (1865–1909) was one of the brothers that founded Renault.
