Make description

Lamborghini Automobili SpA is Italian sports car manufacturer with high performance, which is located in a small Italian village, St. Agatha Bolognese near town Bologna. Lamborghini is now a company owned by the German manufacturer Audi AG, which is in fact a company owned by Volkswagen. Italian company was founded in 1963 by businessman Ferruccio Lamborghini (1916-1993) who owned a successful tractor factory, Lamborghini Trattori SpA. A common version of the story that is told the son of Ferruccio Lamborghini, states that Ferruccio Lamborghini went to meet Enzo Ferrari (1898-1988) in the Ferrari factory to complain about the clutch in the Ferrari 250 GT he owned. Ferrari drove off him telling him to go and drive tractors because he can not drive cars. Lamborghini returned to his factory, his Ferrari's clutch dismantled and realized that the clutch manufacturer for Ferrari is the same as for its tractors. In his warehouse he found a spare part which he thought suitable, and when it was installed the problem was solved. Considering, that he was insulted with Enzo’s words, and very proud man to his business achievements, Ferruccio decided to produce his first own car, which will have a V12 engine, and hired a very talented engineer for engines, Giotto Bizzarrini (born 1926), who before worked for exclusive sports Italian car makers, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari Iso. The new engine developed astonishing 350 horsepower, which was a compound of Ferrari concept of V12 engines and Alfa techniques with two overhead camshafts. The car in which the engine was placed, was designed by a very talented Italian car designer and employee of a famous Italian bodywork workshop Carozzeria Bertone, Franco Scaglione (1916-1993) in collaboration with the equally famous Italian bodywork workshop Carozzeria Touring Superleggera of Milan. Born under the zodiac sign of the bull, Ferruccio Lamborghini used the bull as a logo for the make of his new car.
